Two days of reenactment, arrosticini on the embers, traditional songs, dances and community.
The heart of the event: a long row of burning embers, tightly nestled between two rows of bricks, welcomes 'li spidarell' (sheep skewers) side by side. It is the exact same gesture as always, passed down from family to family.
The town square comes alive once again, filling with people, flavors, and the aroma of arrosticini. Traditional Abruzzese music fills the hearts of everyone there.
Every single arrosticino is handmade, one by one, on the day of the event, by people who have been making them for a lifetime. Prepared traditionally, just as they were a century ago.
